Having been given a jelly roll and a quilting book for Christmas 2010, there is no excuse not to get on with quiltmaking.

Here's what happened next...

Border Dilemma

The top of Rosie's quilt is all pieced, and in order to bring it up to regulation cot-quilt size, I need 5" borders.

But do I go for a plain(ish) red.......

A patterned red........

Or a gold...........?

  1. Oh dear I like all three, so any one of them would be ideal. It's a very pretty quilt.

  2. Thank you, AR - I like the patterned red (second pic), I think, but the gold is softer =(but more bland?) for a baby's cot quilt. Maybe. Dunno.

  3. I like either of the reds. The gold fabric is pretty, but might be better used somewhere else.

  4. Thanks for your input, Sunny - I'm tending to agree with you, and will probably go with the patterned red.

  6. Definitely red and probably the patterned one. The gold is pretty but sort of gets lost with the brighter colours from the centre of the quilt.

  7. I'm rather late to this - sorry - so you probably have already made a decision. But for what it's worth - definitely NOT the gold because you already have a lot of yellow in the quilt top. I'd use the patterned red but it's not my quilt so what do I know :-)

Are you OK these days, is the allotment producing?

    1. You are not late to this, Jayne - I have only just got to the 'better get a move on' point! Glad to see your opinion is much as the other girls - good to get a consensus!
