Having been given a jelly roll and a quilting book for Christmas 2010, there is no excuse not to get on with quiltmaking.

Here's what happened next...

Christmas Quiltalong! December

So this is the final Christmas quiltalong day for 2011, and we are having a gallery of all the projects that we've all worked on this year on the QAL Saturdays.

Now I see that lots of the girls have been working on all sorts of beautiful projects through the year and not just the Scatty Stars quilt either.

I've been plugging away at my version of Scatty Stars and have very nearly finished it - I just need to complete handsewing the binding, bury the remaining tails, and attach a label.

Many thanks to Sue and Cathi for organising this year's QAL Saturdays - it's been brilliant and I've 'met' so many new friends from all around the world!

In fact, it's been so much fun this year that it is all happening again in 2012 from February onwards with a guest host each month - I'll have my pinny on and a warm welcome ready for my turn in February, so do join me for mince pies and sherry for next years quilting project, won't you?

  1. Ilove how your Sassy Stars looks Hazel! Beautiful! See you in February for that glass of Sherry :)

  2. Your quilt looks beautiful. I've loved the colors from the beginning, and I think you have pulled it together so nicely. I love mincemeat pie, so I'll be at your blog door in February.

  3. I love your version of the quilt, the colours are gorgeous.

I'll be on your doorstep bright and early in February. In fact, since we are ahead of our friends in the US, there probably won't be any mince pies left by the time they get there, I'll have eaten them all!

  4. Very lovely. I am going to take part this year too..see you in February

  5. Bad Hobbit, how did I manage to miss this? You've done brilliantly this year, were your ears burning yesterday evening when QuiltSue and I were talking about you? We're v. impressed with your quilts and your'I've started so I will not let this beat me' attitude.

Look forward to seeing what you make in 2012.

  6. The more the merrier (haha - what with the sherry and all that) come February and the new QAL, girls! Fortunately, I am a much nicer person than Sue is, and will make sure that she does not scoff all the mince pies before the West catches up with us. :)

I've made three quilts in this 12 months, Bilbo, and I love them all. I'm very grateful to you all for getting me fascinated with quilting, and the boot up the rear from big siser Helen to get going with the fabric and book last Christmas!
