Having been given a jelly roll and a quilting book for Christmas 2010, there is no excuse not to get on with quiltmaking.

Here's what happened next...

Christmas Quiltalong, September - pt 5 - goodnight!

Right then, girls, that's your lot from me - I have cats to gather and chivvy up to bed.  In fact, I have one right here trying to type with me, so please excuse any glitches that get through.

I have had such a fun day today!  I might admit to not having done as much sewing as I should have, but hey - I have cookies to eat, and tomorrow is another great day for quilting!

Thank you so much to you all for joining in my fancy dress party!  And do let me have your Christmas decoration stories, I'm so enjoying reading them!  I'll tell you about mine tomorrow too.

And I'm going to leave you with one of my favourite seasonal songs....

  1. You've done a brilliant job of being the Christmas hostess this month, thank you.

Lovely to hear Gaudete and Steeleye Span again, remember it the first time round in 1973 :} They're all looking good for grown-ups, although I thought Maddy Prior's voice sounded a bit thinner than it used to, perhaps it's just me? Did you know she is now based just 40 miles away from here at Stones Barn, NE of Carlisle?

    1. Thank you, Bilbo - it's been my pleasure.

You only have to have heard about three quarters of the older performers at the Queen's jubilee concert to realise that - sadly - voices don't do well with age (except Tom Jones, actually, on that). I didn't know Maddy Prior was local to you - thought she'd be in the North East for some reason?

  2. Thanks for having us all again Hazel. I had a great day (can I take my snowman outfit off now though?)

I loved Gaudete first time round, and now I've got it on my brain all the time. I disagree with Bilbo though, I thought her voice was just as good, but I'm not sure just how sober some of the guys were.

Anyway, you gave us a great day again, thank you.

    1. Blimey - yes - you'll roast! Glad you enjoyed the day. Actually, speaking of Steeleye Span, I do remember them doing 'All around my hat' on Crackerjack - I'd guess at about 1975. She had a applique'd dress on, as I recall too!
