Having been given a jelly roll and a quilting book for Christmas 2010, there is no excuse not to get on with quiltmaking.

Here's what happened next...

Party Alert!

Blog Button

This is turning out to be an exciting week!

First of all I received a brilliant package all the way from Canada - I was lucky enough to win a package of goodies in Mrs Pickles prize draw.  Thank you, Hayley - those fabrics are wonderful, the chocolate has all been gobbled up, the seeds will be sown in the Spring in my allotment.

Next up, it is the second Saturday of the month this weekend, and that can only mean one thing - it is the Christmas Quiltalong! Hurrah!  Now the hostess for this month was going to be Maureen, but following a health scare, she should be convalescing and not having a great big Christmas party going on - so it's all over to my place instead.

There'll be sewing (of course), and maybe some baking, and perhaps a quiz, and some music - all you need to do is come back here when you can on Saturday with your Mystery Quilt (unless you are clever-clogs who has already finished it) - instructions for all parts are at Lesley's blog - or another Christmas project to work on, perhaps, and be prepared to have a bit of a giggle.

Actually, I might make the dress code fancy dress, so be thinking on what you want to come to the party as!

And I might show you just a tiny bit more of the baby mat I'm making for big sister Helen .... but only if you promise not to tell!

    1. Oh yes - I love presents - thank you! You're lucky to get a pic of that choc as I was a real piggy-wig and guzzled it all up!

What'cha got in the dressing up box for Saturday's party for the fancy dress then, huh?

  2. I'll be there. Who knows, perhaps I might even get on with quilting my Festive Mystery? On the other hand ....

As for the Fancy Dress bit, I'm not sure, but I might be really original and come as Santa!!

    1. I'm glad to see that I am not the only slacker on the FMQ quilting!

If you come to the party as Santa you will spend the whole time fighting people off sitting on your lap - and how are you going to boogie on down then, huh?

  3. So glad you are now initiated in the Quilters' Rite of "Squishies" - lovely things, aren't they?

The way the weather is going I may well be sewing tomorrow, sure don't think I'll be gardening.

    1. Your memory is short, Hobbit - my initiation to squishies was from your most generous jiffy right up at the start of all this nonsense (my involvement in which is clearly mostly your fault, of course! ;-))

Much I'd love to see you join in the fun tomorrow, I suspect that we may lose you to the green bits of Bag Eng - the forecast has improved considerably since your post, I think.

    2. Well, you got me there because on rare occasions my memory is not quite as sharp as it used to be (well, that is my story and I am sticking to it). But now you've pointed it out, yes I do remember some packets of fabricy stuff heading your way - ooops, sorry :}

The green bits of Bag End and surrounding environs are currently covered in grey, misty, damp stuff. It's been like this on and off all week. Seen my rainfall records recently? (grump, scowl, moan)
