After my dithering about borders
the other day, I've had most helpful advice from Bilbo (as ever) and also I trawled through some back posts of
Maureen's from last year's Christmas Quiltalong to see how a pieced border looks
Which is, in fact,
excellent, oh yes.
So tonight I've attached the skinny yellow border to both baby mats, and I've cut and pieced the fat green-and-beige border.
And that stripy fabric? To be used as binding.
Oh,
yes.
I like this...well done...simply perfect borders!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lesley - very occasionally you get a 'lightbulb' moment, don't you? And when you do, it's great!
DeleteClever, clever girl! Love the asymmetry you've created .....
ReplyDeleteSteady on, you'll be designing all your own stuff and doing "arty" next {snortle}
Ha ha! 'Arty' is not a word being normally levelled at me! I confess to having a look at what every one else does and then pinching the best ideas!
Deletevery pretty. it really allows the middle to pop!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mrs P!
DeleteOh, the borders are perfect! They frame the center just wonderfully. I don't think I would like it nearly as well if the borders were solid. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Reenie - I pinched the idea from you!
