Well Done! By the way, don't rely on the marks on a cutting board - they are notoriously inaccurate, stick to your Creative Grids ruler.
But if you do still have a problem - you know all that advice which says "never use a steam iron on a quilt block". It's good advice, do not use steam on your blocks. UNLESS you want to do a little bit of tweaking .... but in all seriousness, don't think about trimming blocks up until you have made them all (by which time we can teach you about little "fudges" you can make in sashing).
Good job, all I got done today is get the fabric picked out, tonight I am cutting and tomorrow I am sewing. It was a way too pretty day to be indoors here, so I spend it pruning my rose bushes.
Thanks, Cheryll - I love your door hanger too - blogger ate my comment on your blog yesterday. :( See you next month!
As long as all the blogs are out in the same direction by the same amount, I'm home and dry when it comes to putting the quilt together, S&S - can bet on the chance of that happening though!
I tried to take a pic against the ruler, Bilbo, but it wasn't clear (or rather, the ruler IS clear, so the pic wasn't, if you see what I mean).
I haven't thought as far ahead as peicing the blocks - I'm sure this will be a nightmare unless I'm happy with each block as is - hence revisiting a couple of my seams today... think I might still need the 'fudges'!
Look forward to seeing your pics in due course, Orcsmom - I'm glad I made the most of sneaking out for a couple of hours yesterday - raining here today.
Thanks, SQ, and thanks again for the tip on colour reversing on your blog. See you next month!
Nice block...I like the colors you chose. I finally decided today what colors to make mine. Thanks for coming by my blog and commenting. http://www.jayteespatchworkplace.blogspot.com/
That's a GrEaT effort! Any headway is GrEaT I say! Pretty pastel colours too.
ReplyDeleteSee you next month. :)
Everything came together just wonderfully, and besides no one will ever know about what was out unless you tell them. :-)

My comments keep being eaten by blogger today! All I said was that I think you've done brilliantly considering they're your first HSTs.
