There are also a couple dodgy seams where I have caught the thread up underneath, which I may re-do, but that's enough for this evening.
Of course one of the reasons for this burst of activity is that it is the Christmas Quiltalong very shortly, and I really would like Project 1 out of the way before starting on the new one.
Next learning curve: binding the edges....

ReplyDeleteslow down little one, I'll have a bash at doing a tutorial for you tomorrow.
Mat #2 looking excellent!
I forgot to reply to Bilbo's suggestion that it might be my turn to do a video. I think the reply is "I would if I could, but I can't so I won't." In other words Kirsty has got my camcorder. Pheww, that's me out of that then.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you're going great guns with these, I hope you're enjoying the journey?
And as you see Kirsty SO RARELY, getting it back from her would be impossible. Dreadful excuse {grin}
ReplyDeletedon't worry, I've got some bits sorted out and will do something for Hazel today.
They really do look good. No-one would believe this is your first project!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you had so much grief trying to sort out a video for me, Bilbo! The one that you found for me at the connectingthreads.com site is very good - they have lots of tutorials, and a clear style, so I will have a look at the others too.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying this, Sue - it's been a learning curve, of course, and the mats project has been useful in terms of getting to grips with the basics. I'm very much looking forward to the QAL so I can put it all into practise and produce something I can snuggle up under at the end!
Thank you, Flum - it's all down to the excellent tuition!
