Having been given a jelly roll and a quilting book for Christmas 2010, there is no excuse not to get on with quiltmaking.

Here's what happened next...

Being picky about piecing these big friendly squares this week and ensuring that the centres are an accurate 4" - resewing where necessary - has certainly paid off! Ha!

I wonder if there should be a note written at this point in the instructions saying 'Oi! You! Before you go any further, have you checked your seam work??'

Although on reflection, this rather crosses the line from the instructions being clear and straightforward to being really bossy, so perhaps not.

But why is accuracy important here? Because the next stage of this project is to get the cutter out and slice the blocks into four identically sized mini blocks...

  1. This is getting interesting. I bet you love it when the squares are perfect.

  2. Smug chuckle (i's early and I am on my first coffee). I have a strong suspicion I know what the next step is going to look like ☺

Me thinks you have been a tad bitten by the quilting bug.

  3. I can do smug chuckles too. Are you having fun?

  4. Oh, yes, Joanna - and I would have struggled with the next piecing big time if the squares were out.

You're too bright for your own good, hobbit - first cup of coffee or not!

    Yes, indeedy, Sue :)
