Having been given a jelly roll and a quilting book for Christmas 2010, there is no excuse not to get on with quiltmaking.

Here's what happened next...

Christmas Quiltalong, June pt3

I know that I am stretching the definition of the quiltalong Saturday by a number of days, but I did feel I was on a roll with piecing my blocks on Sunday evening, and so I spent some time this evening finishing and pressing them.

But Domino cat was not keen on me playing with the blocks without him 'helping', so this is as far as I got with experimenting with layouts.

I love it!

But I need to see what else I can do with them before I make my mind up.  However, that is for another day - preferably when Domino is snoozing elsewhere!

  1. Domino knows a good thing when he sees it! Your top looks great.

    1. Don't be fooled, Donna - it is not his discerning nature, he will sit on anything (newspaper/crossword/my dinner) that I am giving my attention to so I pay him the attention instead!

  2. I agree. Domino is getting his vote in and I think it's a nice layout, too. I may never be able to settle on one when I see so many layouts that I like.

    1. I'm afraid Domino does not have the casting vote - he is not discerning!

Mind you, I know a couple who were trying to chose a carpet (a not inconsiderable purchase) who made the final decision by letting their cat chose (by sitting on) between the three carpet samples that they liked the look of.

  3. too funny. its looks like your layout is cat approved...that doesn't happen very often!

    1. Assuming that 'cat approval' is defined as plonking your hairy feline butt on some fabric, then it happens all the while round here! ;-)
