Having been given a jelly roll and a quilting book for Christmas 2010, there is no excuse not to get on with quiltmaking.

Here's what happened next...

Christmas Quiltalong! February, pt3

I've just finished squaring up my half-square triangles - trimming them to 2 3/4" square, and now I have 16 jigsaw pieces.

Then when you put them all together - a star - brilliant! I'd better get busy with the machine to get this lot together.

I'm just topping up the sherry, and putting dinner on - I'll have a look to see how the other bloggers are doing while I'm at it...

  2. Crikey, she's doing half square triangles already, and they're looking good!! Well done Hazel! I'm hoping to get some sewing done tomorrow, I may sneak a link into the CQAL - better late than never :o).

  3. HST's without a hitch by the look of things. I told you Sue's instructions were good {smile}

    That's a very sophisticated and muted colour palette you've got there!

  4. A bit of sherry! That's what my christmas Quilt-a-long evening blog trek needs! Thanks for the suggestion.

  5. Given that the HST were trimmed to exact size, I know that the slight variation in seam matching in the block has resulted from when I put them all together towards the end of the evening - tired sewing results in sloppy seams!

    Yes, Bilbo, Sue's instructions were exemplorary. Just out of interest, is ' a sophisticated and muted colour palette' a euphemism for 'weedy and non-descript'? {gg!}

    I didn't realise that the sun was so barely over the yardarm when I poured the sherry! Anyway, sherry doesn't count as a drink when you can have one with a mince pie at 11am with the vicar at Christmastime. Bit like buck's fizz isn't a real drink as you can have it at breakfast on occassions.

    Nice to see you, S&S - hope you enjoyed your day yesterday as much as I did.
