Having been given a jelly roll and a quilting book for Christmas 2010, there is no excuse not to get on with quiltmaking.

Here's what happened next...

The Morning After!

My lovely new quilt is very warm indeed - something which will be of terrific benefit in the depths of winter, but with the current very warm spell has meant that I have totally overheated and slept very badly for the past couple of nights.

I've endured this rather than not use the quilt, though - I'm that delighted with it! Nice to see that Domino has given the quilt his seal of approval, too, along with a light dusting of cat hairs.

And onwards and upwards - to the next project!

Although my lips are most definitely sealed with regard to the design (all being revealed in due course, people), here's the fabric that I plan to use.

The more observant will notice that I've had a rush of blood to the head and am using a fabric which has a slight pattern to it. I know how to walk on the wild side!

  1. Is that a Christmas project? Love being in the "possibilities" zone.

  2. Nope, Joanna, not Christmas - the fabric (poor photo, I know) is gold (pattern), cream, green & terracotta/brick.

I live being in the 'possibilities' zone too - although I can't say more about the design other than I am excited and flattered to be involved!

  4. Nice selection. Actually, the green counts as patterned as well (but 'reads' as solid ... )

Very glad you have slept under your quilt, I never think they are completely finished until they have been snoozed under.

  5. Is that a clue to the design poking out from behind the fabrics??? I'm looking forward to seeing what you choose.

In this hotter weather I often sleep under a sheet and a quilt and ditch the duvet, it's definitely too hot for both right now :o).

  7. I think you will be interested to see how this one turns out, Sue! ;)

By the time the patterned beige is chopped up, it hardly holds a pattern, Bilbo, turns out sort of 'mottled', but a step towards prints, nonetheless - and I'm pretty relaxed about that. :)

I'm surprised just how warm the quilt is, Ali - I'm guessing that the equivalant 'tog rating' is something else to consider with wadding selection...

*thinks - what tog are two snoring cats?
